Vanity metrics vs. revenue signals
Page views tell you someone visited. But did they do anything meaningful? Revenue signals look different:
- Depth of usage: How many core features did they interact with?
- Collaboration signals: Did they invite teammates?
- Return frequency: Are they building a habit?

Start by mapping your product’s “aha moments” — the actions that correlate with conversion. Then instrument tracking around those specific events.
